One-Way Street – Timing Out or In or Inside-Out?
Congrats! You’re the owner of a new time machine. The catch? It comes in two models, each traveling one way only: the past OR the future. Which do you choose, and why?
First of all, no one can travel to the future unless they are returning from the past. Everyone who’s anybody knows that. It hasn’t happened yet, so you can’t go there. You can’t go sometime if it never occurred.
One-way time travel sounds ominous to me regardless of direction.
You mean … I can’t come home? Ever? I have to go forward or backward and it’s a final decision? Without hope of returning to my time, my friends, family? My world?
In which case, no thank you. That’s way too high a price to satisfy a bit of curiosity.
With all the issues of the present, this is my time. It is where I belong, for good or ill.
NOTE: As of this writing, it’s another zero response day at WordPress. I’m not even going to report it. I’m fed up and I’m on vacation. WordPress: FIX YOUR SOFTWARE or replace it with something that works consistently and dependably. Stop dicking around.

I always wonder who put it up. And why. I’m just glad they did, for whatever reason.

Like you I’ve had a love relationship with the concept of time travel. I would instantly choose to return to the past because I feel the future is bleak. I think the United States is a country in decline, morally corrupt and no place to raise a family.

I just think the future is likely to be lacking in some basic stuff … like clean water and air. Or maybe life itself.

Yep, agree totally with your note and I have to say … Jacob Von Hogflume, what a name! 😀

I figure it’s time for them to do their jobs. Besides, they are so snotty and unpleasant, I really dislike dealing with them. They have way too much attitude to go with the ineptitude.

I didn’t report it either in solidarity with everyone else.

I finally decided it’s THEIR job, not mine. They fixed it, eventually. But I am, I must admit, getting really tired of this. If the idea was to kill off the Daily Prompt, I think they are succeeding.

Thanks! The whole Daily Prompt experience is getting ridiculous. I’m sure if they put their minds to it, they could either fix it, or realize they should go back to the previous format which did NOT have this bug and worked every time, without incident. And I wouldn’t mind someone bothering to actually put some effort into writing prompts that are not reruns … in this case, a five time rerun. Which is why I republished one from last year that I liked a lot and thought deserved another go round 🙂

I keep hoping. But I don’t rely on it as the only thing. Less and less. Pity about that. It used to be fun.
