It didn’t snow a lot today — at least not compared to a lot of other days — but it snowed and is still snowing. I keep hoping it’s the last one. That the winds will change and spring will begin to inch into the world.
Not everyone is tired of winter.
Bishop, our big Australian Shepherd, of all our dogs, loves winter. His coat is so thick, so weather-proof, he will — by choice — sleep in a snow drift and let the little dogs use his body as a mattress. They have their own flap door, so this is their choice. They come and go as they please.
To each his or her own. I prefer my recliner and a hot cup of coffee. Or tea.

Bishop looks like a scamp with a sense of humour to me.

He does have a sense of humor. And he is big enough to play tricks and get away with it 😀

At least someone is enjoying the snow. Love your photos of him.

I suspect even the dogs wouldn’t mind some warm weather. They love the snow at the beginning of the season, but they get cabin fever too. The yard gets very small.

And smaller, and smaller.

They have almost no room at this point. Even Bishop can’t push through the drifts.

Our dogs are outside playing “find my paws” and run around like puppies, even the oldest and heaviest one. Fun to watch. Our yard will be flooded in a few weeks, way too much snow. Yours too 🙂

Can you spell MUD? It’s going to be horrible. But as long as we don’t also get heavy rain, we’ll survive.

It rained here yesterday for about 2 hours, then it snowed again. I can see my reflection in the walkway…so I am staying inside. I am ready for spring!

Can I bother you please? Can you make an exception and read this post and tell me if you would be willing to help me? https://nonsmokingladybug.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/houston-we-have-a-problem/

Sure. I’ve never written about how hard it was to quit. Hardest thing I ever did, so yes, fine. When would you like it? I’ll need a couple of days to put it together, but I should be able to have something for you by Wednesday, Thursday latest. I would need your email address so I can send it to you. I had a friend who we were sure we were going to lose … but he got that liver JUST in time … and he’s doing really well now. It’s amazing how quickly he turned around.

My email address is Fabric_magic@yahoo.com. Man I hope the same will happen to my friend. I saw him last weekend and his face is yellow, so are his eyes. I try to be optimistic, but it scared the crap out of me.

My friend was nearly dead. All bloated and yellow. And then, he got the liver and the turnaround was almost instant. Amazing when the magic works. It IS scary and sometimes, we lose someone. But where there is life, there’s hope. Don’t give up.

I am not giving up, just scared. Had a hard time to hide my emotions and facial expression. He is such a nice guy and only a few years older

As someone who has been almost dead, I don’t think you need to hide how you feel. You’re allowed to be upset and concerned. What’s important is that you care and are there.

Thanks Cee 🙂 He is the only one of the crew who will stand there and let me take a picture. The others all run for the hills.

We’ve had dogs. Never seen one that didn’t enjoy snow. I’ve tried to embrace their enthusiasm but …

The ones with the heavy coats seem to like it. The short haired ones, not really. I just remember housebreaking Bonnie hip deep in snow and begging her to stop romping and get down to business. She loves the snow too. Not as much as Bish, but a lot.

Bishop is a real beauty- at least someone is happy in the snow. Count me out!

He is gorgeous. As beautiful as any dog I’ve ever seen in his breed. Not necessarily the brightest bulb in the pack, but absolutely the sweetest.

Those eyes! I don’t know him, never met him but I love this fella thanks to your pics and what you write.

It’s a feature of all Australian herders. They have intense eyes. Bishop is such a gentle soul. Aside from his eternal hope that we will let him sit on our laps (NO), he is forever exactly under our feet. The sweetest, gentlest boy.

I hope Bishop doesn’t go into a funk when the snow disappears…if and when that happens.

He was out there this morning and wouldn’t come in. The drifts along his path are so high, you can only see his head.

Bishop is adorable! He seems to be making the most of it, because hopefully you will have spring knocking at your doors soon.

He lives for the moment we say YES you can come up and join us on the sofa. But he can’t because he is bigger than we are 🙂 Poor baby.
