First, my granddaughter turns 21 today. Imagine that. Wasn’t I only 21 just yesterday? Happy birthday, Kaity. Have a wonderful day!
Garry and I are off to the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship fund-raising event. Garry will be doing introductions. I’m planning to shoot a lot of pictures. There will be antique airplanes and cars … and interesting people. .
We’ll be back in the evening. You all have a wonderful day!

Happy birthday to Kaitlin! I had a nephew who just turned 21 two weeks ago, and was trying to figure out how a kid who was born a month after I turned 21 had now come of legal drinking age. Someone is playing mean and nasty tricks with the calendar again….

Yeah, funny about that. The years just slide by. One day you’re just old enough to get a driver’s license and next day, your grandchild is 21. GRANDchild. Hell, my son is getting near AARP age!

It’s a race between the knees, hips, eyesight and memory as to who ‘goes’ first! Ain’t old age fun? 🙂
Hopefully Kaity will have a long time before she gets to the ‘fun’ parts! I see a strong familial resemblance! 🙂
love.

She looks a lot like I did at that age.

She seems to have had a good day. She emailed a little while ago. I’m glad we didn’t plan on going out with her tonight, though. We came back from this event really tired. There was only one way to get from the main level to the lower levels. Stairs. A lot of stairs. I went up and down them three times. I absolutely knew there would not be a fourth! We don’t have the verve of youth.

Kaity is doing nicely and I gave her a repair to her computer as a gift. It needs a new operating system and a general clean up.
The event was very nice. Garry actually knew a bunch of people from “the old days” in Boston, including the police chief and one of the city counselors. I could have been there a week taking pictures, but by the time I’d gone up and down the stairs a few times, I was ready for my gurney!

These events can be wearing, but I’m sure it was delightful too.

I get tired a lot faster than even a few years ago. Not even winded or ill or anything. Just tired. Garry does too. I don’t need a lot of sleep, but I need a lot of down-time. Just hanging out, reading a book or something. The older I get, the more of that I seem to need.

We are finding that too, Marilyn, and at this stage of the game – why the rush?

I often wish I had just a little more energy to keep going a while longer, but at least we get started, even if we don’t last a long time 🙂
