Interesting interview. He seems very personable, besides musical, which I’m sure he needs to be to be a successful conductor – you have to reach the people in the choir. It seems like Garry’s family are great communicators. He never said if he regretted missing the Moody Blues, though. If I could have seen the MB in 69 or 70 and missed it, I would have regretted it! (I saw them in the 80s, but that wasn’t the same…) Thanks for sharing.

Anton appears to have a very gentle soul. I enjoyed the music and his interview. 😀

He has a very gentle soul, but also extremely stubborn. It’s a great combination for work; somewhat rougher in a familial setting. But the thing is, Garry is so incredibly proud of him and the work he has done and is doing, in the end, neither of his brothers can really do any wrong. They may not always get along perfectly, but there is a bond of love between them that is forever.

This was wonderful, Marilyn. I could listen to Garry’s brother talk…..what a lovely voice he has. He must have stories to tell. He spoke with a certain glint in his eye….you know what I mean? I really enjoyed this.

I used to get to sit next to him in Church at Christmas. THAT was a treat 🙂

Gentle soul with very strong convictions. Anton has grown immensely and uses his position to address issues outside of choral music. Yes, IMMENSELY proud of him.

Going to listen to this later when I won’t be disturbing others. Interestingly, the St Olaf choir concert was to be broadcast on our local classical station last night. And as I heard the announcement, with Anton Armstrong conducting, I thought of you and Garry. oh, I “know” them. Fun!

We tend to miss broadcasts unless someone warns us they are on. But we do get to see “private” broadcasts. We used to go to actual concerts, but obviously this year has been very different.

Kiki, so glad you enjoyed. I hope Anton has a number of years left with the choir. He has already turned so much around and left a legacy.

This year, we didn’t get to meet. But then there were family zooms …

Becky, Anton is now the “rock” star of our family. And, he’s still a nice guy.
