Christmas Eve was a lot of bustling and family and food and all that kind of stuff. Today, though, it’s quiet. Kaity and friend are off to his family and it’s just we four, including Owen’s friend Arthur. It seems a good time to show off a few pictures that have not previously made it into posts — and a few that have but I just like them.
It’s all slick and icy outside, so it’s a perfect day to do absolutely nothing — and that is exactly what we are doing. Breakfast was nice, with eggs, bacon and an English muffin. The tree is glittering and I decided to not put on music today. I’m enjoying the quiet and the lights. This is a good lighting day. Not only is it grey and a bit dim, but we won’t be using the lights much past this week. After the New Year, it’s time to pack up the little tree until next year.
Little gifts were exchanged. I think it’s possible Garry has just emerged from bed and may join me soon. I haven’t figured out exactly what to do with the two flank steaks in the refrigerator. I was thinking of slicing and dicing it all into steak tips with tinly sliced onions. We have a fridge full of apple pies, key lime pie, and some heavenly cannolis from a great Italian bakery.
I have no plans for today or for that matter, next week. I’m not planning on doing any additional planning, either.
Merry Christmas to all and may you have a peaceful week as we end 2021 and move into 2022.

I hope you had a good day. We had a quiet one too, yesterday and today. Naomi commented that we seemed to spend most of it eating. As usual we had no room for Christmas Cake till today but it was worth waiting for.

I didn’t make the desserts this year, but Owen’s friend brought fresh cannolis from the Italian bakery and it was delicious! We also had a big leg of lamb and today, we get lamb curry. It think I like the curry better than the roast.

I just got home from dinner — a quiet afternoon with friends — and good conversation. I love all your birds and squirrels, and the new museum, too! Merry Christmas!

It was a quiet day, which was fine since Christmas Eve was all hustle and bustle. That was fine too, but I wear out quickly these days, so I’m very glad when peace returns.

Merry Christmas Marilyn
We are taking it easy today too
Very quiet inside
44 degrees outside 🥵 and we have a 3yr old grandson sick with gastro 🤮 so lots of rest and maybe a bit of blogging

I was glad for the quiet Christmas. I like holidays, but I can’t push myself. I get tired and am glad for simplicity.
