FOTD – November 5 – Maple Leaves
It’s a mix of standard maple leaves and Japanese maple leaves. A little something for everyone.

Maple leaves are THE most colorful autumn leaves and the sugar ones are best of all. AND they make maple syrup. Definitely a win-win 🍁

It sure is a win-win!

It is ironic insofar as while I love maple syrup, it’s really too sweet for me these days. I think about it, but I never use it. Too much sugar.

It is surprising how much our taste changes as we age!

It is. I’m constantly surprised at how much my taste has changed — in everything except clothing. I still dress the way I did in high school and college and ironically, I’m fashionable again. After all these years.

I always tell people if you can’t take a good picture in autumn in New England, you should give up photography. It really is very hard to take a bad picture from late September to the end of October.

I love the shape of these leaves, as well as the pretty colours.

Yes, they are a great shape. Until I moved here and the world become almost entirely oak, I thought maple leaves were the ONLY leaves. This was probably because the oaks were up in the woods and we didn’t have to rake them up. Now it’s magical when you are in areas with lots of maple trees.
