PEERING UP THE BLACKSTONE RIVER
Today, abandoning birds, we are looking upriver on the Blackstone River. It’s not the I ran out of birds, but it has been a long and terrible day and wanted something peaceful. The river is peaceful and for the moment, so is our capitol. I don’t think it’s over. Not quite yet. Not unless they remove you-know-who from power — like maybe tomorrow.

Peaceful indeed and just what everyone needs after yesterday – a perfect choice Marilyn

Thank you. I want to go back to trees, sunrises, and clouds. If I can urge my permanently sleep-deprived husband from our bed before the sun is beginning to set, maybe we can get OUT of here for a while and get in touch with the earth again!

Ooh yes, will do him a power of good and he’ll sleep so much better tonight 😴

It does do him good. He just takes so long to get moving that the day is gone before he’s functioning. Then he gets mad at me for ruining a good dream. When men get on in years, they do get awfully grumpy.

Yup know exactly what you mean. Mine can be a GOM too (Grumpy Old Man)

Garry was convinced it wasn’t true, but he asked around and discovered it wasn’t just good old me saying it. That’s probably why he has half a dozen sweatshirts with pictures of Grumpy on it. Hmm. What does that mean?

A beautiful picture, Marilyn. What’s happening in the USA is quite a shock, I must say.

So you can imagine how thunderstruck WE were. This was not a scenario either of us ever imagined was possible. Not here. Not ever. This is one of the rare times I’ve wanted to be younger just so we could fight back. As it is, we are bystanders, clutching hope; fearful of how our grandchildren will survive in the world to come.

We need a trip to the quiet river. It’s just more than a little bit cold and as we get older, we get cold a lot faster. When it’s below freezing, I don’t go out much. I used to, but time is really catching up with me.
