What keeps me on the edge, but off the ledge? Dogs. Friends. Writing. A new camera and a good lens. A husband who is always a challenge. A movie that makes me laugh.
Speaking of Garry (were we?), he likes to hang around on ledges. He’s an edgy, ledgy kind of guy.
Me? Not so much. I prefer not to tempt fate. Curiosity keeps me going — and safely off ledges. I want to be around to see whatever is coming next.
Survival is nature’s way of keeping the species going. We survive because. I don’t think we need a reason to follow our instinctive need to be.
As for edginess? “Getting old is not for the faint of heart.” Getting through any day is quite a balancing act.

Whenever I peep over the metal railing in some very high place (usually the upper parts of a ballpark or the top floor of a mall), I can’t help but wonder…. just how secure is this railing anyway? Then I get the hell away from the ledge…

Garry solves the problem. He goes places without any railing.

I think Garry is crazy..tell him I said so. Actually I admire people who can do it, I can’t I am drawn to the edge and would go over.

I can’t either. I get vertigo. Garry really isn’t afraid of heights. He isn’t really afraid of anything. Which can be bad for your health.

Thanks. I hope the doctor knows more than we do … which is nothing at all.

A really great picture. Hope Garry is getting better and the antibiotics are doing their trick.

He is better, but he isn’t better enough. Yet. Today, blood work. Tomorrow, doctor.

Like the ledgy edge in the photo. We all have our edgy days, although I am convinced I am the balance of life in person, Mr. Swiss is not. Glad to hear that Garry is on the way to better health. Our spiders are usually friendly and wouldn’t dare to bite anyone, they just hover in their webs and kill anything that happens to arrive in the web.

We have the usual little house and garden spiders, but we also have big nasty arachnids that officially are not here. They come as hitchhikers, so despite the official word, they DO live here. Massachusetts doesn’t want to acknowledge them, but they are here and have poisonous fangs.

I totally agree with your last lines and loved how you put it into words. Are we going to get a peek at Garry’s shots?

They are mixed together. Look at the signatures and you can see who took which shot. You’ll see his pictures in all my other posts this morning, and if you search on Garry Armstrong, all his posts (photo and writing) will pop up!

Thanks 🙂 I figured I’d capture the moment, in case he went over the dam, never to be seen again.

Better, I think. We’ll know more after the blood work comes back. Thanks for asking.

He is better, but not back to normal. I still think he got bit by one of the spiders that the authorities assure me don’t live around here because nothing else explains it. But since we didin’t catch it, we’ll never know for sure. No test will show anything about what toxin got him.

It would be nice to know, but the main thing is that he is better than he was.

If it is spider, it will take it’s own time, but it will eventually go away. One of the big reasons I’d like to know what bit him is because there are a couple of other spider candidates and they live in houses, hiding in corners. If we have them, I want them GONE. This is one for the exterminators!
