Monthly Photo Challenge: The Changing Seasons 07
It’s full summer in the our valley. Green is the color. Of everything, except the flowers, the cars, and houses.
The depth of the greenness is intense. It reflects in the streams, grows as lichen up the boulders that line the fields.

Thank you. It’s one of my prize possessions and my favorite ever anniversary gift. Good photo subject, too.

Nothing like the green! We sure missed New England’s glorious shades, tints and tones of that lovely color when we were ‘away’. It’s great to be home again, for good now. Still have a few months of lushness to enjoy before the white stuff falls again. Your photos are terrific! 🙂

Thanks. I’m often amazed at how lush New England is in the summer. The swing from winter to summer is gigantic and rather remarkable. Sometimes hard to believe it’s the same place.

And you thought the snow would never leave …

Today it’s 90 degrees with 99% humidity. Like trying to breathe through soup. No moderation around here. Can’t we just have pleasant weather for a while?

I thought Ireland was about as green as it gets (and it is). I am so surprised by how green, lush, did we say green? New England is. You need to bookmark these pictures for Dec-Jan…

It’s a bit of a (pleasant) shock when you first get here. Of course, if you go up into the mountains, or far north in Maine, it’s not so lush … but central and southern New England is downright tropical looking. The whole northeast is very green. I think it’s because we so much rain and water in general.

That last photo is amazing. It is amazing to see nature come to life after such a harsh winter. We are green all year round where I live. Just get bad frosts, which usually means sunny days. I can handle that.

We had a “green” winter a few years ago. They happen, just not lately. Weather is fickle.

Whenever it didn’t snow in Austria it was never green – just a horrible, dirty brown. Green is nicer

There are areas like that here, too. Closer to the mountains, the topsoil is very thin. At the best of times, not much grows there. And in the deep forest, the floor is pretty naked. Too dark for anything except moss, ferns, and fungi.

Ours are finished the first big blooming and are getting ready for round 2. Maybe we’ll get three rounds this year. I love when that happens.

This is round two for us too. But the climbing roses in the front garden are going gang busters.

I agree with Daily Musings. Hard to believe that it was hidden beneath the snow. Beauty all over and you captured it with perfection.

Every season has the seeds of the next. It can be hard to remember that when you are locked in the house and all you can see is ice and snow.

Nascent, waiting. I try to remember than when we are buried under 12 feet of ice and snow, that it will come back and bloom again. It can be hard to remember. Very hard.
