LET THEM EAT …

“So let them eat cake,” Marie said, merriment dancing in her eyes.

The peasants found her statement revolting. After all, they had no cake. Nor eggs, flour, sugar, or any of those cute little plastic cake decorations.

    • THAT was Marie’s big mistake. If she’s said “let them eat cake,” and supplied lots of little plastic cake decorations, there would never have been a French Revolution. Or, as Richard III said: “My Kingdom for a plastic cake decoration.”
