IN THE HOUSE IN BLACK & WHITE

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Inside Your Home

I love the edges and reflections in the house and the angles. I love the little things. Books and clocks and dolls and toys.

    • When we moved in, that was a set of old, unstable sliding glass doors. I wanted French doors. Unfortunately, we can never leave them open because the dogs will go right through the screens while the birds and squirrels can run right in and join us for dinner. They they looks good, but remain closed. I had dreams of getting some air into the room, too 🙂

    • I take pictures around the house when the weather is too bad to go out — either one of our super hot and humid summer days or bitterly cold blizzard blowing days. The blizzard is more photogenic.

    • Owen and I went visiting yesterday to the fellow who made my guitar. He lives right on the Mumford River and he turns out to be something of a bird nut and photographer, too. We had a good time and FINALLY I learned a little about how to play the instrument. It turns out one of the strings was wrong. Apparently they put the wrong string in the pouch and they don’t label them, but no matter what I did i couldn’t get it tuned right.

On the way home, Owen said “I knew you’d like him.” I had to laugh. He’s a craftsman, musician, and photographer — and he builds some AMAZING birdhouses. We are the “artsy” set. What’ NOT to like? So I got to thinking about my personal resume. Professionally, a writer. Hobbies? Photography. Music. Painting (but I gave up painting when I discovered photography). We’ve been collecting original art for decades and Owen added a dozen chiming clocks. Yup. A bit artsy.
