FOTD – September 24 – Japanese Maple
And suddenly, the letter “J” floated before my eyes and I saw my tree, my lovely Japanese Maple that is green all summer, but scarlet in the autumn.

In the fall, the color is amazing. Not even the sugar maple turns that color! It’s red-orange.

This one is green all summer and doesn’t seem be anything special until fall hits, then WOW, what a color! A lot of people like the ones with the red leaves, but this one really lights up like a tree on fire by the end of this month and stays that way until the snow fals.

I have one like that too. Though not until it snows.

If we are lucky, this one will still be scarlet when it snows 😀 Then it’s really something else.

If ever I am lucky enough to have a garden of my own, I will fill it with Japanese maples of every colour… They are heavenly trees…

This was a gift and we grew it from a tiny little twig. They grow fast and lucky for us, don’t seem to need any special treatment.

I didn’t know you could grow them from cuttings… good to know, Marilyn…

It wasn’t exactly a cutting. It was a sprout from one of its seeds. My cousin grows them.

Thank you. It looks like a tree with a fire in it in the fall. I just LOVE it.
