I know wherein I speak about medical care. I’ve had very bad medical care which was nominally better than none. These days, it’s good, bordering on great. It didn’t happen all at once.

BE KIND TO YOUR KIDNEYS SO THEY CAN BE KIND TO YOU
Autocorrect had decided the writer couldn’t possibly mean “exacerbated” and must have meant “exasperated.” I had a sudden weird mental image of his kidneys throwing up their hands or whatever kidneys throw into the air and saying, “That’s it. I’ve had it. I’m outta here.”
NOOZ, NUDES OR NEWS?
It’s all about ratings. Money is everything. Make as much money as possible. If, by chance, they manage to include some quality journalism, that’s nice. It doesn’t mean the story is accurate. Great journalism doesn’t equal truth.
BEING AGAINST FORCED BUSING DOESN’T MAKE YOU A RACIST – GARRY ARMSTRONG
I was in the middle of what I honestly call the Boston busing fiasco. On center stage, it played as a racial divide between Boston’s white and minority communities. It played well in the media – especially national and international… Read More ›

WHAT’S YOUR SOURCE?
Fandango’s Provocative Question #134 I would like to point out that there’s plenty of room between “I believe everything I hear because my sources are impeccable!” and “I think I have a sufficient selection of news sources so that mostly, I’m… Read More ›
PLUTOCRACY OR OLIGARCHY? THE UGLY CHOICE OF THIS UPCOMING ELECTION
We live in a country full of shallow, if not outrightly stupid people. They watch “the news” and believe it’s all lies because an orange-skinned bloke says so. As a woman whose husband was a television news reporter for more… Read More ›
CENSORSHIP AND THE LIFE WE LIVE – Marilyn Armstrong
Fandango’s Provocative Question #42 It’s a good question for everyone to ponder these days. There has always been censorship of some kind in every country as long as humans have been “civilized.” Its definition — or at last one of its… Read More ›
