ALL WET! CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE

CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE: ALL WET!

From Cee: This week’s topic is Things that are Wet. Wet is open to a lot of interpretations. It can be the ocean or as small as a drop of water. Something can look wet. Signs have wet wood in them. Rain, snow and slush are all quite wet.

Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink;
Water, water, every where,
Nor any drop to drink.

From “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” (text of 1834)
By SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE

    • We don’t get as much rain as they do in Oregon, for example, but we get a lot of other precipitation. Sleet and snow especially. And every once in a while, a hurricane swings up our way and we get drowned and flooded. River valleys. Mud central 🙂

  5. Lovely photos!
    Did you know that Samuel Taylor Coleridge ripped off “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” from Iron Maiden? Or maybe it was the other way round.

    • Or yeah, maybe the other way around 🙂 I was gonna quote the whole poem, but its very very very long … and just when you think it’s got to be over, there are another five verses.

      • Yes, I believe the song lasts a good 15-20 minutes. And Coleridge is credited as one of the writers!

        • It is a statement of how totally out of touch I am — and have always been — that I am far more likely to remember Coleridge than Iron Maiden. I have never been hip. Or cutting edge. Or fashionable. Sad, but true.
