TUESDAYS OF TEXTURE | WEEK 41 OF 2016
The deck is old and could really use a few coats of sealing stuff. And probably a sanding too. But it doesn’t look like it will happen this year, just like it didn’t happen last year. It’s a big job. I can’t do it myself … and the kid is busy. So it waits.
Meanwhile, the textures of the old wood and the fallen leaves on the deck always make interesting pictures. Especially this time of day, when the sun comes through the fence to make long shadows across the surface.

Lovely old wood texture, Marilyn. That branch with the green leaves, in the first picture, really stands out.

Thanks. We must have had some wind the other night because a bunch of little branches came down. I don’t even want to think what this place would look like with hurricane winds.

With any luck it will blow out to sea before it gets that far north.

The fallen leaves and branches look arranged for they are so perfectly framed! This is divine on composition and lighting. Thanks so much for sharing on Tuesdays of Texture!

Thank YOU 🙂 It’s early yet. Before the month is out, there will be only leaves with no deck showing.

Thank you. I love the texture, but I could be happy without the splinters 🙂

I love the look of your deck. Best not walk on it barefoot, though.

I can’t ever walk in my house without shoes (Crocks slip-ins) because of the scorpions. Shake out my clothes, as well.

That was true in Israel too. I hate the scorpions. They are SO scary.
