SKETCHBOOK 69, PART 3 – GREAT BLUE HERON IN THE AIR

I watched another few episodes of “Sketchbook” on Disney+ last night. One of the subjects said “We all have at least a couple of thousand bad drawings. You might as well get rid of them as soon as possible and move on. If you think you might be able to draw, just do it. Draw. Draw a lot.”

So, that’s just what I did, right then and there.

The heron was just taking off and his wings were not fully extended. When they are cruising, their long legs look like a pointy tail. I think they use them as a rudder in flight.

  1. I think she’s got it! I think she’s got it!
The great blue herons take off so quietly and gracefully!

    • Thank you, thank you 😀 This one wasn’t all the way up to cruising level, so his wings were still slightly folded across his back. I was watching Disney+ “Sketchbook.” He said “Keep drawing,” and I said, “Okay. I think I will.” And I did 🦅
