CMMC December Close Up or Macro
I have one camera that always has one or another of my macros lenses on it and it’s the camera I’m most likely to grab in the house.

I like the close up of the squash at the end.

I love the detail on the gourd / pumpkin! Macros like this can really make you see everyday objects in a new light.

It was indeed the light that caught my eye. We’ve been having bright cold grey weather. Every time I sweep past a place with something pretty on it, I grab a camera. I’ve got a lot of these oddball photos. Every once in a while, a challenge comes up and I can use them, but these oddballs accumulate faster than I can use them. Especially close-ups of teddy bears. I mean, seriously, how often does anyone need close-ups of toys?

Superb close-ups, Marilyn. The cuddly toys are so cute, and I love the detail on that pumpkin. 🙂

I’m not sure if it’s a pumpkin or a gourd. It’s very small for a pumpkin, but very large for a gourd. All this great flat bright light we are getting is perfect for this kind of picture. I’m never sure exactly what to DO with these interesting but odd pictures. They rarely seem to fit in with anything so I sort of wait for some kind of challenge to come up so I can use a few.
I love the Teddy close-ups too. And, of course, I have a few hundred close ups of the dolls that are now living in South Dakota. I don’t own the dolls anymore, but I have plenty of pictures by which to remember them!

I suppose that close up it’s hard to tell as well, but they’re fab shots. All superb anyway. 🙂

I take a lot of these oddball pictures. I’m just never sure exactly what to DO with them. They are interesting and often have great tone and texture, but they are not my usual stuff.

They add to the beauty of our blogosphere.

Cee used to run an “oddball” challenge and these odd photos usually wound up there. I suppose I could just post them so at least they don’t just sit unseen in my files.

I love them too. They don’t live long around here — they are popular munching plants for woodchucks, squirrels, and deer — and some of the birds, too. But for as long as they survive, they are amazing. My father used to grow these. LOTS of them in every imaginable color, but he didn’t have deer roaming nearby. We’ve got a lot of critters and many of them — even coyote — will eat flowers. Pity nothing seems to eat weeds!
