Still time to go up, up and away

It’s a little museum on a private property. It contains many of the pieces used by the Tuskegee Airmen as well as a few airplanes that they maintain and fly. This day was to give scholarships to students. Little scholarships because they don’t have a lot of money, but at least it might buy some books. It was a beautiful day. One of the pilots took a passenger up. We expected him back in a little while, but more than an hour later, he was still gone. Nice ride!

  1. Now those are planes! What great shots 🙂

  2. I’ve only flown once in a tiny plane in South Dakota. At the time it was simply a way to get from one town to another. I also flew across the USA in a commercial prop plane. When my daughter was 21, she became an airline stewardess or TWA for seven yeas and traveled all over the world for free. As her mother, I could fly free except for paying the tax. If I paid $10, I could fly first class. Those were the days when they fed you decently on their flights. So, it was “Up, Up and Away with TWA” for those years.

    • I had a couple of friends who had small planes and they liked company. I chipped in for the fuel and we popped around NY and New England. It was fun, but my feet were always frozen.
