FOTD – October 31 – Garden’s end
I had hoped the mums would survive the rain, but they didn’t. The orange ones are blooming heavily right now, but it’s absolutely pouring outside and it’s cold. I suppose we feel the cold more this time of year than we will later in the season. We’ll get used to it. But right now? I’m cold.

Our garden is gone now. Rose has been out there nearly every day working on things. It’s not really a passion of mine, though I do plant a couple of things: poppys and nasturtiums. We are fearing the winter in this age of Climate Change – not really knowing what to expect.

Our garden really is a wreck. Worst, I’m not even sure what we can plant that won’t be destroyed by the invasive vines that have choked everything that we normally grow. I guess it’s hard for me to get excited about a garden that has been almost completely destroyed. I don’t see this whole climate change disappearing by next summer, either, so I’m just going to wait and see.

Mine too! I hoped they’d last longer, but the weather did them in.

Thank you. They were. It has stopped raining this morning, or at least so far. It did this yesterday for an hour, followed by a deluge of rain for the rest of the day and since the sun is peeking in and out, I don’t know if the lack of rain will last more than another hour. It’s already getting grey and dark out there. I think I’m going back to bed and take my coffee with me.
