Thank you. Garry still has that watch. It’s a beauty but it needs repair and finding someone who can work on those old spring-wound watches is very difficult. A lot of people do it as a hobby but no one seems to do it professionally. Not enough work probably. I have a whole collection of gold and silver pocket watches from the 1800s and all of them need some kind of repair — nothing major, but at least a new cover and cleaning. It’s a pity because some of them are really beautiful.

I’ve been looking for someone for more than 10 years and haven’t found anyone yet. The people who did this work — even as hobbyists — weren’t young and I think time has swept them away.
