    • Well, if you had a kayak, you could adventure as far as the canal goes. I think it goes quite a ways … miles, anyway. Parts of it are blocked by fallen trees, et al, but there’s still a good deal of open flat water.

  5. The Blackstone areas looks very good, especially the reflections in the first photo

    • The areas near the river — that part of the river, anyway — are good soil and rather rich. Otherwise, it’s mostly orchards and truck farms — tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash. All the really huge crops are grown in the midwest — Kansas, Iowa — the rich, flat lands.
