EARLY FOLIAGE

The leaves are changing. Too early. I think it’s the lack of rain. It has not been cold. No chilly nights to snap the color out of the trees. The only possible answer is the endless drought that is affecting much of the world … and a huge swatch of North America.

The rivers are empty again. I’m trying not to think about the well.

The trees are turning yellow quickly. In just a few days, they’ve gone from showing a bit of yellow, to showing mostly yellow. Fast, furious, and weeks too early.

And a link to Cee’s Flower of the Day, even though these aren’t all flowers!

  1. Same thing here. After record-breaking spring rains, we are dying for rain now. Brown, dehydrated leaves have begun to fall here without any of the pretty colors. Sigh…

  2. I noticed one last fuchsia. Because it has been so hot this summer, all of our trees are already turning and ugly brown. It is going to be an early fall for us. 😀

    • Everywhere. The midwest (Ohio and Minnesota say the leaves started changing in August). Southern New England down through the mid-Atlantic states, also early … but they are NOT changing up north, in Maine. I guess whatever weather changes are happening are not affecting them. Yet. I don’t know what it means.

  3. Sadly it is the scene here in my part of the world. Clouds have just vanished and no rains. Green was so beautiful and brought so much of hopes.

  4. Our world are changing the climate so very fast Marilyn. I really hope that all of us will wake up, before it is too late.
