CEE’S FUN FOTO CHALLENGE: THE COLORS YELLOW AND RED
It’s a very gray, chilly, rainy day here in the northeast. The dogs are restless and I wish we could just cancel the day and go back to bed.
Garry, when I first moved to Boston, introduced me to the concept of “dressing against the weather.” What this means is that when the day is very bright, it’s a good day to wear brown, black, gray and other dark neutrals. But when the weather is dreary and dark, that’s when you need a red shirt, a yellow tie. You need to bring your own sunshine to the day.
Today is such a day. Yellow and red sound like just what the doctor ordered!

I love the idea of dressing ‘up’ on a grey day, and a bouquet of flowers like that first shot would be the prefect tonic for a day when one wants to hide under the duvet.

Amazing sunset photo…the sky looks afire!

It really looked like it was on fire and it reflected on the mountains which turned red. I have pictures of it, but it looks so fake, I never bothered to post them. I’ve never seen mountains turn red in the light of sunset. It was kind of amazing.

Thanks for the flowers and that’s one great red car! Makes sense to bring your own sunshine. It’s miserable here too.

Great selection of photos. Here, it is hard to know what to dress in. Cold, crisp nights, warm balmy days. Dressing like an onion is called for I think. Easier to peel of clothes when it gets warm, and then put them back on for the night

We layer here a lot because the weather is so changeable. Literally cold one minute, warm the next. Rain, sun, wind and a little hail? Why not. Whatever you want in the weather, just wait a minute.

It just started to get warm here – and now it’s got cold again! Me is confused. Love the last picture 🙂

Here too. Was shirtsleeve weather yesterday, but I turned up the heat today. Eventually (presumably) it will settle down.

As Spring arrived I detected a massive cheer from many Eastern folks who had a bitter Winter.
Where did you find that car – said the geezer, completely not noticing the flowers.

We have bitter winters most years. This one — at least around here — was pretty mild. I know it was much worse a couple of hundred miles south of us in New York. They got hit really hard.

Speaking of the flowers, our living room bouquet now sleeps the big sleep. Time for some new ones.

The only good thing about today is it’s “Baby” Bro Anton’s Birthday. He joins the “60 club”. I hope the weather is better where Anton lives. But they were beset by twisters yesterday in parts of Minnesota.

Thanks for the cancellations, my love. Good to sleep. Furry kids aren’t happy with weather but a few extra biscuits will make them smile.
