SIGNS OF THE SEASON

Cee’s Odd Ball Photo Challenge: 2016 Week 46

Thanksgiving is next week, but as far as the stores are concerned, Christmas is just one day later. And down at the dam, the last few leaves are clinging to the trees … except weirdly, some still have all their leaves. It’s a bronze and deep red time of year.

  1. $.47 a pound for frozen turkey. That’s a great deal. We’ll be paying well over $1.99/lb. for a good deal.
And they tell us there isn’t any inflation. Balderdash

  3. Interesting the different aspects of the Christmas decoarations outside the stores in our different countries. We also only have a few leaves now on our trees. Good peek at the church through the trees.

    • You would see very different stuff in Boston than here. This is a small store in a small town, so even if you were to go to a nearby mall, there’d be more variety. And what you see is regional, too. This really is a big country.

We don’t buy anything except a wreath. Like you, we are pretty much done with Christmas. The wreath is my nod to seasonal cheer.

I was surprised to see the church. It will be more visible when the rest of the leaves fall, but oak leaves stay in place until after the first few snowstorms. Snow can come any time now. They are already have heavy snow in the middle of the country, so it won’t be long.

      • Today — right now as I write — is a mild, Indian Summer Saturday in our Valley. Wish we could preserve it and sprinkle some of it across the days, weeks and months ahead.

  4. There’s something haunting about those pictures, even though they are interesting, it’s an ephemeral quality I can’t quite explain. Really like them
