FOWC with Fandango — Turnover
We are both extremely fond of apple turnovers and almost always have a box of the mini-size ones in the house. We have both turned over at least one or many new leaves through our 149 years of life.
But the really biggest turnover was swapping out our little Jeep Patriot for our much newer Jeep Renegade. It was the perfect second-hand car, too. Less than 3 years old, just over 20,000 miles on it and perfect for what we needed.
It doesn’t use much gasoline, but big enough for us and three small dogs. And it will drive on pretty much anything!

Sweet.
I’m hoping to get a Kia Soul next time. They appeal to me. They must be OK cuz there’s a ton of ’em running around.

What a cool-looking new car! I wish you both many miles of joy and great adventures in your new Jeep. It is different to see white upholstery though – I’ve only ever seen dark colours before. But then you haven’t got two kids dropping crumbs and spilling drinks over the seats, so I doubt it’ll matter! 🙂

No we don’t have kids and we don’t let the dogs in the front. We cover the rear seat, so even when they are with us, the seats are protected.

Very sensible, Marilyn. Then I’m sure the interior will stay the colour it is now. 🙂

It’s already getting a bit gray just from dust and dirt in the environment and on our coats. Why WHITE?

I am policing myself. Chewing gum wrapping goes into my pocket. Not discovered til I am doing laundry. Ugh! Awkward dope-slapping yourself.

Well I applaud you for that. I’m always engaged in a hopeless battle with wrappers and crumbs in our car! The crumbs always win… 🙂

Ah, the crumbs. I cover myself with paper towels, an apron and napkins when eating — but the crumbs still find their way.

Well at least you try, which is more than my kids do! 😀

I love Bella. She’s not just my Jeep. She’s my friend. ❤

These are friendly, personable cars. I love ours. She is the vehicle we always wanted.

One thing I love about her (because my driveway is a very sharp turn from the alley and my neighbor’s fence is right there) Bella is SHORTER than my Focus was. It’s like she said, “I got this, Martha.” This coming Friday we’re going to the mountains and I’m going to X-country ski on closing day at the ski area. I just love her. ❤

Okay, “Baby” and “Bella”. Marilyn, we need a name for our Renegade. Hilts? Just make it Hilts.

I took “Baby” (my car) to the dealer today for her 60,000 tune up. She had her transmission flushed and a new filter put in there, spark plugs and wires replaced, and all fluid levels checked, oil changed. The mechanic said she looks well, and I should not expect any ugly surprises nor problems. Given that Baby is a 2005 model, 60,000 (she’s actually at 56,700 right now) are very low miles. I told the guy I didn’t anticipate replacing her (ever), and that I planned on driving her until I am told to stop driving. Which may be sooner than later, but I’ll try to stay positive. I remember the day you got your new Jeep. Thought it was very brave of you, but also very wise!

And shiny. I don’t understand WHY they used white upholstery, though.

does it wipe easily?

So far. But we don’t have kids and we don’t usually eat in the car and we cover the back seat for the dogs, so aside from the usual dust, the car is pretty clean. If it gets bad, we’ll have to get seat covers.

I really like our Jeep “renegade”. It’s really your wheels — you did the selection and got the deal done. Good work, Baby Sister.

Our Orangey “renegade” stands out in a parking lot of mostly Black SUV’s.
