  1. A touch of sadness in the cartoon! Libraries should still be around to house all the true books of yesteryear! Visit Bizarro! Loved the cartoon with the birds looking for the windshield! 😆

    • He’s great. Has been for more than 20 years. I always wonder where in his mind he stores all that stuff.

      • That’s the way I always felt about Gary Larson. I miss my daily dose of The Far Side 🙂

        • Yes. He’s the other one I loved reading. And Edmond (is that right?) Gorey. Another crazoid … he was in the New Yorker. The New Yorker STILL has the best cartoons. Except for Bizarro. And I miss both Al Capp and Walt Kelly.

  3. Funny and sad! The winged creature could be Burgess Meredith who found he had an extra pair of glasses.

  4. rather foreboding isn’t it. have you been to a modern library lately? surprised they have any books in there at all.
i foresee a future when everybody will just have a Kindle.
nobody will ask us, of course, it will just happen. you’ll will go to the Library one day … and it won’t be there.
all the books will be warehoused or placed in museums as curiosities..
“Look Mommy, a book.” the child will say.
    Mommy: “Avert your eyes Child!”
    ‘Fahrenheit 451’ here we come.
    Which book will you be?
