JUNE IS SQUARE – ROOF 2 – Marilyn Armstrong

It’s that time of year again and squares are back!

This is a roof in a lovely brick mansion on Beacon Hill. It amazes me how beautifully maintained these old houses are … but then I remember how incredibly wealthy the people who own them are.

Beacon Hill – May 2015

Well, the theme is ROOFS (or rooves if you prefer!). Your roof can be;

A – any type, any condition, any size, and in any location.
B – it could be a shot across rooftops, of one roof like today or even a macro
C – you might prefer to spend some time under the eaves and in the attic, or enjoy the view from above as Brian has already done today.

I was going to do another tunnel, but I got pixelated by the rooves on Beacon Hill. See you tomorrow!

  2. We had a wind storm a couple of weeks ago and it blew off a couple of shingles along the edge. Do you think I could find someone to come and replace those (3) shingles? They all wanted to replace the whole roof. We finally did find someone to do it. But always they want to upscale everything to take your money.

    • I suppose it depends on how damaged it really is. Our roof is in good shape. Everyone agrees on that one — even the insurance company and the contractor — and although the chimney needs pointing and a few replacement bricks, it otherwise okay. Meanwhile, all the windows are looking sad. I will simply have to replace them one at a time as needed. I can’t do the whole house. I wish I could!

      • We could get another five years or so from our roof. After all the things we’ve been through this year the last thing I want to do is replace the roof when it really doesn’t need it.

  3. It is beautiful, the chimney and the design you captured alongside it.
