Time for a Show: Square Day in the Theater District
We’ve eaten the big meal. Opened all our gifts. We are stuffed with goodies and wondering if there’s enough room for cheesecake or even a cookie.
Maybe it’s time to do something different.
How about taking in a show? The theater district waits for us and the lights are shining!

Leslie, our left overs consumed with appreciation. Even the dogs got a little.

I think that left overs usually taste even better than the first time around.

Yes, Leslie. This was quality beef stuffed with veggies from the local butcher. It’s a once a year luxury we allow ourselves. Mixed the beef with kibble for the doggies who ate in record time. Then, they wanted more.

OOO YA! Love the old theatres. What’s left of them. Many, many torn down. The staircases, the carpeting, the lighting, chandeliers, curtains … just going to a Movie was a special event. That our kids will never know. Interestingly enough The Majestic was playing on TV today.
And would they PLEASE, please stop playing Die Hard on TV every Christmas. It has NOTHING to do with Christmas. And never will.

I watched Die Hard once when it was first on cable. It never crossed my mind that it was a Christmas movie.

I know people who now claim “Die Hard” as their favorite Christmas movie.
What’s happened to us?

We used to actually go to an occasional show. Now, between the ridiculous prices, traffic and parking, we just don’t go into Boston. Pity. I loved the theaters.

You need Boston to come out to you, well the theatres anyway!!

I wish. If there were public transportation, we’d probably go. A train would be great, but there is no stop in our town. Pity about that, in a lot of ways.

ah yes one of the things I want to keep when we move is a railway station.

There are a few towns that have a commuter line, but most of us don’t. We are on the Worcester-Providence line, which is freight only.

Your country’s love of the motor car has made the railways almost unloved 😦

Yeah, those prices? Out of sight and mind. Tis a pity.
