VIOLET WITH A SIDE OF WHITE

CMMC: December Violet or White Color

For unknown reason, many — probably most — of our wild flowers are violet with white and pink running a close second — and bright yellow holding a solid third position. In the early spring — late March or early April — our lawn is covered with wild violets, clover, and dandelions.

    • Thanks Cee. We have a lot of violets here every spring. They are pretty much gone by summer and this year, the drought cut short the season by at least a month. Hopefully next spring will be a little less parched.

  3. Either you live in the Southern Hemisphere or you are somewhere it is temperate year round to have flowers blooming in December. That is a lovely sight on a cold winter’s morn. (Sorry, night would have rhymed, but would have been a white lie.)

    • Nothing is growing right now, except the holly tree which seems to be making more berries. It is our “winter tree.” All the pictures are from some summer or springtime past. I didn’t get many flower pictures this year because of the drought. After May, almost nothing bloomed. Hopefully next year will be better.

  4. Wow! How fortunate you are to have violet as your predominant spring wild flower colour. I’d be in purple heaven in your garden! 🙂 ❤
