AS THE BALL DROPPED IN TIMES SQUARE …

Suddenly, without any warning, Garry changed the channel.

“Why,” I asked, “Did you change the channel?”

He arched one eyebrow and I looked at the time. “Oh,” I said. “It’s almost midnight.”

He navigated to the channel showing the Times Square (New York) annual event and he counted down the final ten seconds. Then we kissed, retaining our delicate balance and not falling off the sofa.

The dogs, instantly recognizing an opportunity, seized the moment to do a happy give-us-a-biscuit dance. They were intensely cute and were properly rewarded for their efforts.

And then, we went back to watching NCIS. Another year has passed. Let’s hope this is a very good one for us all.

    1. 69 for me, so you’ll have to tell me how it feels since you are getting there first. Garry’s 73, heading for 74 (yikes), but he’s a guy so it’s different 😉 Hope this year is better than last. Better than ever 🙂

  1. The last time I watched the ball drop, Dick Clark was still doing the TV show. Here, I ran to the window to try (and fail) to get some pictures of the fireworks neighbors set off. At least, I hope they were all fireworks…

    1. They were shooting something out here last night. Garry and Bob were pretty sure they were gunshots. We kept the dogs in. Bullets go up, and who know where they go down. I hate guns, I really do.

Happy New Year! Is this going to be our breakout year? Break out of what? Something? Hugs.
