FOWC with Fandango — Resort

I have a few retired friends who are always off to someplace fun. A resort in the Caribbean. A vacation in the south of France. A little trip to Micronesia with a quick stop in Hawaii.

Me? I’m on my way to get blood taken because I really know how to have a good time.

We were up early enough this morning for me to prove what I knew by inference: early in the day, a furry four-legged bird hits that flat feeder with a vengeance.

I would have taken this picture — pretty little thing all fluffy and red — but Bonnie thought it was a good time to bark furiously because I had bypassed the treat container and gone, instead, for my camera.

The birds scattered, the squirrel fled.

I put the camera back down, glared at Bonnie who was still barking and adjourned for coffee.

Before you think me cruel, recognize this was not her first hit on the treats this morning. She had already barked me out of bed twice earlier for a quick treat. Bonnie weighs like two big cinder blocks and is not wasting away for lack of goodies. Just saying.

So indeed, there is an early morning squirrel. I just usually miss him or her due to differing sleep patterns.

    I think Bonnie may just be taking a little too much advantage of your generous nature? 😉

    We already have snow up to my knees, which, of course, doesn’t stop Puppy Cody from running after the squirrels on the telephone wires. It does tire her out since the snow is up to her belly, so I consider that her exercise for the day. More snow coming tomorrow and Wednesday – I just hope it stops by Friday because I have to take my daughter for her Remicade infusion and then go to a different facility for my own infusion. All-wheel-drive or not, I’d prefer not to make the trip in two feet of snow, which is what’s predicted. Good luck with your blood work, and with your weather.

    I just hope you aren’t getting the same snow storm we’re getting at the moment. I might have to resort to some fowl language.

      Miraculously and entirely by accident (she was sure it was a dry hole), she found a vein on the third try. A draw is a problem, but an infusion is a disaster. I will do a lot to avoid it. I have a feeling I’ve popped back into the normal range and am not (currently) anemic. I’ve been doing this all my life, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all. And I’ve switched my diet back to the one they told me to stop eating (you know, red meat and shellfish and all that other stuff that’s full of iron?

      I am assured we’re going to get all the snow tomorrow, so we should be cleared to go on Wednesday. I’M hoping the tests show I don’t need the appointment because an infusion for me is seriously traumatic. No veins. I never really HAD the kind of veins they use in medicine. Many teeny tiny veins, but no big plump ones.

    The great day began with a snow covering and it got better. The snow stopped and the sun appeared. After the lunch time sleep it was snowing in big flakes and still is. Glad I managed to squeeze the shopping in, in between and now for the rest of the day. Taking photos of the snow.

      We have snow showing up Wednesday, so we’re trying to get everyone done asap — except the doctor appointment IS on Wednesday. Let’s see how the weather really happens. It has been pretty erratic, so maybe it won’t snow or it will only snow a little bit.
