Foliage At Home – October 15, 2019
Today was another lovely day. Did get to go anywhere and half the time I was intending to spend taking pictures, I spent cutting down wild grape vine. That stuff is STRONG! It’s like the heavy rope you use on boats. Fortunately, it snaps when you double it up, so you can get it pulled off. It was trying to choke our Japanese Maple tree and I couldn’t have that!

Seems to be missing those intense reds, Marilyn. We aren’t getting much here.

I’m JUST getting some reds today, but there’s a major storm tomorrow night, so they’ll be gone by Thursday. Another VERY SHORT Autumn!

If the weather were better, we’d have these colors for another few weeks, but unfortunately, there’s a big storm coming in from the ocean with a lot of rain and wind which will strip the trees of their leaves. Still, there’s nothing more beautiful than New England in full Autumn — even a mediocre one like this year!

Really like the rays of sunshine effect in the 2nd and 3rd photos! Was that actual, a lens filter or a photo processing filter? 🙂

Remarkably, it was just the sun. I have one where you can see all the rays, too. I’m saving that for a special day. I have to be standing in the right position relative to the sun and hold the camera at the right angle to get the rays, too. The first time I did it I was thrilled. Now, I’m pretty good at it.

On the first pic with it the effect was very subtle, i had to look to make sure i had seen it right. The second pic it was much clearer but almost exactly the same ray pattern so wasn’t sure if it was an added effect.
Look forward to seeing the one you’re saving. 🙂

Ah Autumn, such a great season! These are lovely shots.

It’s going to be very short because there’s a big storm coming in from the Atlantic tomorrow night which will last until the weekend, by which time the leaves will be gone. It’s better than the years when we got the storms before the leaves even came out 😀

Oh, just stay safe, Marilyn. At least you were able to enjoy these beauties even for a short time.

It’s just too bad we aren’t having a real autumn. But the weather isn’t what it used to be, so I’m glad to get any at all.

No reds this year …. or at least very few and they are mostly vines, not trees. Still, it is beautiful to see for however long it laasts.
