It’s so pretty. I love the wedgewood personally, I’ve always been drawn to it. It’s a shame people aren’t as interested as they once were in fine pottery and dishes.
It is true! I have a friend that has 4 complete sets of 12 dishes and she uses them, all the time. I could use a set but I have 4 and because I don’t have a lot of company now, I really don’t need much more, lol.
I had a set for 12 and it took up the better part of a dining room. When I finally realized I didn’t need it, hardly ever used it and gave it away, it was a HUGE relief!
We don’t have major get togethers, I used to, but now my daughter hosts all the major events since she has 4 kids and has the space so I’m with you, I don’t need a lot of stuff! lol
I’ve just brought (and will continue to do so) a CARLOAD full of my treasures to a local brocante. My heart is just breaking once again for thinking that these treasures might never find a lover of beautiful things and might get ‘Cast before swines’ (to ppl who don’t appreciate it)….. you’ve got some pretty astonishing pieces there!
The Spode was sold, but the rest I still have. I’m trying to find homes for it where it will be safe and remain undamaged. This really old pottery is a legacy. If you break it, it never comes back. I wish I had a home for most of it.
What cute pictures – love that porcelain plate!

It’s a very nice one. I have a couple of others, but that’s the nicest one of the bunch.

I’m just afraid to use it for anything. It chips so easily. But this is nice stuff.

I wish it didn’t chip as much. It would be fun to really use it.

I think the problem is the no one has rooms for all that stuff anymore. Even with a normal size house, you run out of space pretty fast.

I have half the stuff I used to have and if I had half of what I have now, I might finally feel like I’m coming out from under!

Thanks, Cee. I’ve got half what I had a year ago and it’s still an awful lot of stuff. But it is lovely.

Yes it does and I think it makes the food taste better too…

And very old. A couple of items are at least a thousand years old. I don’t want them to wind up in the trash.

Understandably. I come back to what I said earlier: Contact an auction house with good quality photos.
