CEE’S FLOWER OF THE DAY – FOTD – VIOLETS
Two days of sunshine and things are blooming. All over the back lawn, we have a few dandelions and many violets. They used to grow in the garden but they have spread out and taken over the back lawn. It was lovely this morning, so I took some pictures.

Violets are among the many wild flowers that grows around here in Missouri on roadsides and in yards. Don’t know if they were propagated and took over or they were naturally wild.

I think they are naturally wild. They grow almost everywhere in North America. For all I know they grow all over the rest of the world too.
Apparently in England and Ireland, but not as extensively as here … and in Australia.

The whole backyard is covered with violets and in another week, dandelions. Nice colors 🙂

We had one more (almost a whole) day of sun today and suddenly, the oak trees have buds. But, sadly, rain tomorrow.

A lovely burst of purple to start my day! Great shots, Marilyn, and I’m glad you’ve had some sunshine to let them come into their own. 🙂

Indeed, and long may it continue. It’s heartening to see how swiftly nature recovers from a battering from the elements. 🙂
