Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Flowers
Today we were in Boston. It was my surgery follow-up. He told me I’m doing fabulously and I look really great.
“You should see how other people look a month after surgery!” I can just imagine.
I graciously accepted the compliment then asked when I would feel as good I look.
“It takes a few months, you know. But you are doing really well.”
That was the medical part. The other part of the trip was spring. It wasn’t a pretty day. No sun. Chilly, only 45 degrees which is very cold for the end of April.
It was drizzling too. But along the Charles River, the cherry trees, magnolias and apple trees are blooming their hearts out. I grabbed a shot as we sped by. It goes to prove that Mother Nature. against all odds, is bringing springtime.
There’s nowhere to stop to take a picture on Storrow Drive, so this is officially a drive-by shooting! Along the Charles, at the very end of April 2014.

It’s grey and cold here and this is the first time in decades we did not have Lilies of the Valley by May 1. They are just starting up. Tulips are late but arriving now.

Now that you mention it, we have NO lilies of the valley and they are usually all over the garden by now. I think they may have also fallen to the endless winter. Drat. I love those lilies.

I have a long row of them and they may just bloom while I am out of town. They are certainly a few weeks behind their time.

I love drive by shootings and your shot is spectacularly beautiful. Should i dare say that today and tomorrow we will be almost 90 degrees. That is unheard of here. We are normally rainy and high 60s.

90 degrees? We will probably make 70 today which is fine with me, but it’s been falling into the 30s at night, which is why the flowers are struggling so hard. Summer will come, just bypassing spring. This isn’t all that unusual in New England. To be honest, what is more unusual is when we have a real spring.

Storrow is a beautiful place to shoot and a terrible place to stop. Impossible. You have to get there by foot or bicycle, neither of which is happening for me. Maybe that’s how it stays so lovely 🙂

Ya got me! Not the kind of drive by shooting I used to cover.

You’re probably still in shock. Just because you are tough and brave doesn’t mean you can’t feel assaulted, even it was with your best interests in mind. You are doing magnificently. You are!

He at least understood that looking good was one thing, but feeling as good as i look is another. But he did say most people look horrible at this stage, so I suppose that’s something to cheer about. He said I could begin to drive again. I thought “No, not until I get some new glasses, actually.”
Today, Walmart and cheap (affordable) eyewear!!
