Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Hot and/or Cold
We are certainly in the perfect place for ongoing discussion of chilling and sizzling. On a normal year — whatever that might be, since we haven’t actually had a normal year in at least a decade — we get both. Brutally cold winters and breathtakingly hot summers.

Pictures tend to look better on a dark background, but white text on a black background can be really difficult to read. The gray, though, doesn’t seem to put as much strain on the old eyes and it also punches up the pictures. It took me hours to find the right neutral shade of gray — dark enough, but not too black. I rarely spend that much time on anything that isn’t writing, but I’m glad I worked on this version. I think it’s the best version I’ve had so far. Thank YOU for looking. It makes it worth the effort!

I agree because I can’t usually see gray on white. My appliances are gray writing on stainless steal. I was forever asking someone to read it until I could memorize the settings. Now I have a mag glass to use, it helps. Your blog I can actually see woot woot.

You are welcome, but truthfully I thank you for making your site fresh and easy to read cause I enjoy much of what you have to impart.

I keep playing with mine, but I don’t think I’m making it much better, lol, difficult when you can’t see to begin with. So when I see a change

And it seems to work, I wait to find out if it did lol

I much prefer your “chill” photos. That might be due to living in “sizzle”, like I do!

When I was living in sizzle, I missed the chill. Now, I kind of yearn for 75 degrees with an hour of rain after sunset. Caribbean or maybe San Diego.

San Diego is nice. Lots of different places to explore.

From the photos it does look incredibly beautiful there.

It is intensely green from the rain, but I still can’t find any buds on the rose bushes. My son says they will come. I’m hoping so. meanwhile, those Columbine are really enthusiastic! Usually, they’d be gone by now, but they are gotten huge and plentiful.

One nice thing about all that rain is you don’t have water the garden every night.

Which is good because the pipe to the faucet is broken and is awaiting repair!

Thanks Cee! This one was — given our weather — an easy one. Though only one day of sizzle this year. The rest have been wet and cold. Maybe a good thing!

It would be boring without our contrasts and we would not have the chance to take such good photos.

True. And it IS more interesting. Just hard on the joints. And trying not to fall on the ice.
