From the Hall of Fame induction — September 12, 2013 — pictures of happy people having a really great day. These are the pictures from the ceremony and immediately after it.
Plus, a great picture of us by Bill Brett (Boston Globe) and a rare picture of Garry and his brother, Dr. Anton Armstrong … and Garry at the podium accepting the award. Typically these events are a bit of a letdown, but this one was not. It was just what we wanted it to be and maybe even better!

I’m packing. And moving. From a place far away, to another place far away – because that’s what I do when I get bored.
But packing isn’t a knack I was born with..and so I procrastinate, then sort, then toss stuff out, then procrastinate some more, then break out the Jim Beam, then – well, you know how it goes 😉

I wish we could do that. Far FAR away. Where it doesn’t snow. And we don’t have any bills or a mortgage.

Snow is good! It means crackling fires + hot mead + snowed in = no visitors 😉

It means slipping and sliding on the frozen drive way. It means waiting for my son to have time to clear it so we can get out of the house to buy some groceries or get to the phamacy … or anywhere. It mean watching it pile up and wondering if the roof will cave in, realizing it IS going to cave in, then trying to find someone who will shovel the roof and oh year, figuring out where to get the money to pay someone to shovel the roof. But it looks great in pictures. We don’t have visitors anyhow. Our friends don’t go anywhere either, so we call and email. Winter in the frozen north is cabin fever time 🙂

You can have our stinking, burnt, brown, rainless, oppressive, summers and I’ll take your cabin fever. Deal?

Why nor? At least it would be a change!

It was really HIS night. It meant a great deal to him … more than he is willing to admit, I think.
