Thursday’s Special: Tall
This is my favorite “tall” picture. I don’t know why I like it so much. Maybe it’s the perspective … or the glitter.
The building isn’t so awfully tall. Just 6 stories. Tall for Beacon Hill in Boston. Not tall by other standards and far from tall for the city in which it’s located. From this angle, with the sun on it, it looked very tall indeed.

I love this angle and the architectural design and your capture. Thank you, Marilyn

Hey Garr.., most of the big movie stars you idolize, save for The Duke and Clint are/were short. Maybe it was a tech thing so they would fit into the film frame. Never the less I think of you as a giant among those guys Dude…

The perspective is very interesting and I love the wrought iron railings.

It’s an odd building. Almost everything is a brownstone, two, maximum three story, one or two family. But this is an old apartment building with those nifty wrought iron railings. It stands out.

It’s from a different era.

I think I like it because of the angle – it almost looks like that building is toppling over, or lying down for a rest. Had you taken the photo straight up, I don’t think it would be quite as enticing.

Probably not. I tried several from further away and they were not nearly as dramatic. The angle works, I think because of the sun and those decorative iron railings.
